ESI and Fraser Coast Regional Council host deputy premier and local member for announcement

ESI Asia Pacific and Fraser Coast Regional Council were delighted to host Deputy Premier Steven Miles MP and Member for Maryborough Bruce Saunders at our Maryborough manufacturing plant site on 16 January for the launch of the ‘Battery industry opportunities for Queensland' discussion paper.

The discussion paper highlights the great opportunities for iron flow batteries as a key component in Queensland’s energy future. These batteries will be proudly made by our company in Maryborough, with Queensland materials and jobs.

From the $70 million facility at this site, we will be producing iron flow batteries for Queensland industry and power producers within two years, and 400 megawatts of production by 2026.

We look forward to continuing our collaboration with the Queensland Government in contributing to the state’s Battery Industry Strategy and delivering on the promise of our technology in this exciting new industry.

The discussion paper is now open for consultation until 5pm on 31 March 2023. This will inform the development of the strategy.
